The alarm in our home sounded in the middle of the night several months ago and woke up John. Was someone in the house? He jumped out of bed ready to protect our family, only to discover it was me. I had walked in my sleep – right out the door.
Several weeks later it happened again, only this time it wasn’t me. We both sprang out of bed. John went for his gun. I ran to the front of the house empty handed. Not sure what I planned on doing, but when I got to the front of the house, I saw the front door was open. Was someone in the house? Just then, the door began to open wider. I froze. I would have been scared, only the person walking through the door looked a lot like my eleven-year-old son, Noah. He, too, had walked in his sleep – right out the door.
As we move onto the houseboat, we may need to put some safety measures in place. Perhaps we will sleep in our life vests!
